HAPPY BIRTHDAY ST. VINCENT dePAUL
On April 24, 1581, St. Vincent de Paul was born.
His belief that every person deserves dignity and compassion transformed how the world responds to poverty and continues to guide our work today.
More than four centuries later, Vincentians carry forward that mission, serving neighbors in need through acts of
charity, justice, and love.
💙 Inspired by his example, we continue to serve.
THANK YOU TO ALL OUR VOLUNTEERS!
Vision Statement
The St. Vincent de Paul Society is a lay Catholic organization that aspires to live the gospel message by seeing Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice, hope, and joy, and by working to shape a more compassionate society.
The members of the SVdP Society of the parish of St. Luke will maintain this vision as each member grows individually through a deeper sense of spiritually and friendship, with the common goal to help those less fortunate by respecting their needs and to share their burdens. We make a commitment to share our resources, our time, and ourselves as we live the virtue of Christian to those we serve.
Did you know St. Vincent de Paul Society is a National Organization?
The National Council of the United States is part of an international society of friends united by a spirit of poverty, humility, and sharing. We are nourished by prayer and reflection, mutually supportive gatherings, and adherence to a basic Rule and Manual (LINK)
Visit the USA website for more details, sign up for the National Newsletter, review resources and reflections along with best practices. There is a wealth of information available there.
